Touchbase's market-leading service proves worth to rapidly growing Mobile Comms company - 14 April 2010

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - The Mobile Communication company offers a robust suite of high-speed Internet services to consumers and businesses and is set to launch a 4G mobile service this year.

In order for it to continue to grow and capitalize on its niche market offering, the company requires a cost effective, scalable, efficient and robust technology infrastructure. Although cost effective and quick to deploy, its existing communications systems are becoming compromised and an enterprise grade solution is required that will leverage the virtualized infrastructure strategy currently being adopted.

Touchbase is to deliver an enterprise grade Foundation and Collaboration platform to the Mobile Communication company's North American user community in two phases:

  • Phase 1: Deploy Cisco’s Unified Communication Manager and Unity Connection systems in central Data Center to serve the 1,800 employees based in West Coast and Virginia locations.
  • Phase 2: Migration of this solution to a virtualized application hosted across the 2 Data Centers, extendable to all locations. This phase will include upgrading the Cisco Unified Communications Manager to Release 8.x and the Unity Connection to 8.5 at the appropriate time.

Touchbase's introduction to this client came via their Vice President of Information Technology, formerly of one of Touchbase's existing clients. For this existing client, which operates one of the world’s largest communications and internet backbones, Touchbase supports and manages the communications of 5000 users across North America, Europe and Asia.

The Mobile Communication company's incumbent partner had been causing frustration due to their expense and lack of execution. Based on the excellent experience the Mobile Communication company's VP of IT received from working with Touchbase at his previous company he contacted Touchbase to get an exacting and professional response to his new company's opportunity.

This deal is indicative of the effect of Touchbase's focus on ensuring market leading service for clients.
